Todd Rundgren did not fail to please at the Park West last week. Leading off with “I Saw the Light,” he then launched into “Love of the Common Man” and kept them coming, including “Open My Eyes,” “Sometimes I Don’t Know What to Feel,” “Black and White,” “Bang the Drum All Day, “Compassion,” “Drive,” “Lysistrata,” “Soothe,” “I’m So Proud/Ooh Baby Baby,” “Determination,” “Love in Action,” “Couldn’t I Just Tell You,” “Hello It’s Me,” and “A Dream Goes on Forever.” Fuzzy pic, incredible evening!

More Dandy Warhols at Thalia Hall
Here are some more pics from The Dandy Warhols’ show at Thalia Hall last month.
Dandy Warhols at Thalia Hall
The Dandy Warhols at Thalia Hall in Chicago, November 19, 2015. Great show!
The Dandy Warhols at Taste of Randolph
I got to see one of my favorite bands Saturday night at Taste of Randolph, but not for long—festival organizers stopped the show after one song when severe weather threatened to end the band and its die-hard fans. The song? “Be-In” from …The Dandy Warhols Come Down. It was worth every second.
Dandy Warhols Poster
I bought this poster for my son after we saw the Dandy Warhols on their 13th Anniversary Tour for Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia. It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Secret Agent Man – Jerry Schwartz (Live)
I love holiday weekends! Here’s a video from a rocking holiday weekend a few years ago at a family reunion. That’s my brother Todd behind me on guitar, and my brother Troy is playing drums. Also playing but not shown are my sister Kasha Phillips (keyboards), her husband Mike (bass guitar), and Todd’s wife Holly (tambourine).
What the World Could Use a Lot More Of – The Jerrys (Live)
From my appearance on WZRD Chicago 88.3 FM one month ago today, here’s “What the World Could Use a Lot More Of.” Turn it up. Sing along.
Let’s Groove – The Jerrys Live at WZRD
I played “Let’s Groove” live at WZRD Chicago 88.3 FM earlier this month. The song is the title track on Let’s Groove, a full-length CD released in 2011. If you like what you hear, there’s more on The Jerrys’ website.
My Fave Shows of 2013
Of all the live music I’ve seen this year, two shows were so good that I’m sure they will be my fave shows of 2013 when the year comes to an end: Todd Rundgren and The Dandy Warhols. Rundgren had just begun his official State tour, while The Dandy Warhols celebrated the 13th anniversary of their album, Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia, by playing the album in its entirety. Here are a couple of pics.
Todd Rundgren, May 19, 2013, Park West, Chicago, IL
The Dandy Warhols, June 8, 2013, Vic Theatre, Chicago, IL
